Angela Hardman of Berridges Jewellers in Ipswich gives us her tips on the jewellery trends for spring/summer 2013:
Each season there are some trends that develop and become more pronounced, some that stay the same and some that become less important. Deciding on the ones that are relevant to your customers and which aspects of your collection to continue and develop is a constant challenge for the jewellery industry.
The jewellery trends for spring/summer 2013 are a natural progression from previous seasons – the big, bold statement pieces are still very much in evidence and becoming, if anything, bigger, brighter, bolder and quirkier than ever. Multiple function jewellery (wristwrap to necklace, day to eveningwear pieces etc.) is becoming more popular. We have some beautiful new pieces from Thomas Sabo, who have now introduced yellow and rose gold to their collection.
At Berridges though, we particularly love our pearls and always have! That is why we hold such a large range and sell so many of these beautiful gemstones. They are timeless in elegance and certainly add a little extra radiance to the wearer.
The Schoeffel family who have been dealing with pearls since 1921 supplies all our pearls, and their knowledge and reputation are highly regarded worldwide.
We stock mainly freshwater pearls from China, which are available in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and natural colours. These are supplemented with beautiful Akoya oyster pearls from Japan and the stunning large South Seas pearls from the West Coast of Australia and Tahiti.
To complement the strings of pearls we also stock matching ranges of stud earrings and bracelets from just £90. For a summer wedding or ball they make the perfect addition to any outfit.
